Classification of super absorbent polymers
Superabsorbent polymers have industrialization has two kinds: one kind is starch or cellulose skeleton followed by hydrophilic polymers, such as graft polymerization of Acrylonitrile onto corn starch and hydrolysis; the second category is the synthesis of crosslinked sodium polyacrylate. The former has a large amount of water absorption, low cost of raw materials, and microbial degradation characteristics. The water absorption rate is low, the high cost of raw materials, and not susceptible to microbial degradation and corruption, both of which have been industrialized production, the American Henkel company and the Dow Chemical Company, Japan SANYO Chemical Industrial Company and steel yield the largest chemical industrial company.
Use of superabsorbent polymers
Superabsorbent polymers are widely used. Can be added to the soil water retention; for planting flowers and vegetables, seedlings, can regulate and maintain moisture; made medical bandage, cotton, gauze, sponge, absorbent can be used for surgery and trauma hemostasis; with the pulp made of super absorbent paper, can be used as sanitary napkins, diapers and other children, can also be used as packaging of fruits and vegetables the preservation and water retention; cement mortar can improve the performance of pre cement products; to absorb pesticide and fertilizer, can control the release effect, to improve the efficacy and efficiency objective.
